There is still so much to discover! The channel “Composed by women” highlights the strongly under-represented legacy of female composers of the past centuries. Women composers faced many more obstacles than their male peers: more limited access to education, difficulties with staging their work, etc. But even so, some found their inner vocation too strong and followed the imperative to create. Their music needs therefore more exposure, not only for artistic reasons but also as a tribute to the great composers who often could not fully develop their talents. We know that we are only touching the tip of the iceberg, but we believe we can inspire you.
